Test phenomenon:
When the ESD discharge of the contact ± 4KV is carried out, it is found that the communication between the steering wheel and the main engine is disconnected, the steering wheel cannot be controlled, or the down button is triggered by mistake. The test point is a Type-C metal case, and the number of discharges is 10 shots each.
Rectification process and experimental analysis:
As shown in the figure below, the customer's PCB board structure, from the PCB we can see that the customer's board and the button are connected by a long FPC line. When we rectify ESD, we must first confirm the ESD interference caused by the connection line, and when the customer designs, connect 5V ESD (model: ESD5D150TA) in parallel to ground on a 5V power supply, and connect 3.3V ESD (model: ESD3V3D250TA) to ground on other ordinary signal lines.
Corrective measures:
Based on the experimental phenomenon, we suspect that the magnetic beads added to the communication between the control board of the steering wheel and the main board have affected the communication of the signal. Remove the magnetic bead test on the signal line, the experimental result is ±4KV test OK, and the steering wheel does not crash; During the test, it was found that the encoder still misoperated occasionally; Connect a 1UF capacitor in parallel to ground on the control switch pin. There are no obvious abnormalities in the test prototype! Test passed!
